The Defender Reflector is the widely popular, industrial strength model. Its surface is a titanium white heat resistant powder coat that scatters light rather than mirroring it, producing a very diffuse and even light footprint while maintaining a reflective quality of 92%. The base metal is H18 aluminium alloy (3% magnesium), strong yet springy, so the wings return to perfect parabolic curves after rough handling. At its widest setting it suits a 1000W lamp, or two 400W or two 600W lamps.

A Bright Core in the Middle and Stretching Plants at the Edges

A hard mirrored reflector throws a hot core straight down and leaves the outer plants in shade. The middle bleaches, the corners answer with excessive stretch, and those plants finish with airy buds and low yields. A diffuse coating spreads the same lamp across the whole footprint.

How to Use

• Set the wings: narrow for penetration, wide for a broader, more even spread
• Match the size – Small, Medium or Large – to the lamp and area
• Lamp loading: at the widest setting, a 1000W lamp or two 400W or two 600W lamps
• Hang it level from both ends so the footprint is not skewed to one side
• Keep the lamp central, re-checking after any change to the wings
• Clean between crops with a soft cloth – never abrasives
