Description

Two plants per tray, watered automatically – no power, no waste

The AutoPot easy2grow System is AutoPot's space-saving two-pot module: one tray carries two pots side by side and a single AQUAvalve5 waters both. The valve lets a shallow fill of water or feed into the tray, closes, and only opens again once the plants have drawn it up, so roots get a natural wet-and-dry cycle and you never overwater. Everything runs on gravity from the supplied reservoir – no pumps, timers, electricity or mains water – so it can sit on a patio, balcony, greenhouse bench or grow tent floor and look after itself while you are away. Choose 8.5 litre pots for herbs, strawberries, salads and compact flowering plants, or 15 litre pots for tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and other vining crops. The system is endorsed by the Royal Horticultural Society and the trays, pots, AQUAvalve and fittings are made in the UK from recycled plastics. Systems run from the 2-pot kit up to 100 pots, each supplied with the reservoir matched to its size.

What's Included

  • easy2grow two-pot trays and lids – one per pair of pots
  • 8.5 litre or 15 litre square pots, two per tray
  • AQUAvalve5 – one per tray
  • Marix disc and square PotSock for every pot
  • 9mm pipe, golf filter, in-line taps and connectors
  • 16mm supply pipe, click-fit tank adaptor and filter, in-line tap and 16mm-9mm cross connectors on 12-pot systems and larger
  • Reservoir – 47 litre tank with lid and grommet on 2 to 6 pots; FlexiTank on larger systems: 100L (12 pots), 225L (16–24), 400L (40–60) or 750L (80–100)

Key Benefits

  • Two pots, one valve: a compact module that fits narrow benches and small spaces
  • Plants control their own watering: the AQUAvalve5 refills only when the tray is empty – no overwatering, no dry-outs
  • Power-free and silent: gravity-fed, with no pump or timer to run or fail
  • 8.5L or 15L pots: the pots are interchangeable between easy2grow and 1Pot trays, so you can size up later
  • RHS endorsed and UK made from recycled plastics
  • Endlessly extendable: add easy2grow extension modules to the same reservoir

How to Use

  • Root control: a Marix disc goes in the base of each pot and a PotSock on the outside base, gold face up.
  • Growing medium: AutoPot recommend around 50% perlite or pH-stable clay pebbles mixed with soil or coco, over a 2.5 cm drainage layer.
  • Pot up established plants – at least 15 cm tall in 8.5 litre pots, 22.5 cm in 15 litre pots. Water each pot through outside the tray and let it drain for 15 minutes.
  • Raise the reservoir so the outlet sits at least 15 cm above the AQUAvalves, connect up and fill.
  • Leave it off while roots establish – 5–7 days for 8.5 litre pots, 7–12 days for 15 litre pots – then open the tap.
  • Running: refill when a third remains, with the tap closed for 30–60 minutes while it settles; keep the trays level and off cold concrete, and open the end-of-line taps for a minute each week to keep the lines clear.

Frequently Asked Questions

8.5 litre or 15 litre pots?

8.5 litre pots suit herbs, strawberries, salad leaves and compact flowering plants; 15 litre pots give tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and other vining crops more root room. The pots are interchangeable between easy2grow and 1Pot trays.

How long should I wait before switching it on?

AutoPot advise 5–7 days for 8.5 litre pots and 7–12 days for 15 litre pots after potting up. Lift a pot to check – if it still feels heavy, give the roots a little longer.

Can I extend it later?

Yes – each easy2grow extension module adds a tray and two pots to the same pipework. The 47 litre tank serves up to six pots; beyond that AutoPot recommend moving up to a FlexiTank.

Does it need mains water or a pump?

No. The reservoir only has to sit 15 cm or more above the valves – gravity feeds the AQUAvalve5 in each tray.
