Description

Restore full dosing accuracy without replacing the pump

The Bluelab Replacement Pump Cassette Small/Medium is the wear part inside the peristaltic dosing pumps of the Bluelab PeriPod M3 and M4 and the Bluelab pH Controller, pH Controller Connect and pH Controller Wi-Fi. One unit holds the rollers and the internal pump tubing, so a single swap renews everything that wears with use while the drive motor stays in place. It suits Bluelab's 10–120 ml/min pumps only; the PeriPod L3 takes its own larger cassette.

Key Benefits

  • One-piece cassette – rollers and internal tubing renewed together
  • Fits five Bluelab units – PeriPod M3, PeriPod M4, pH Controller, pH Controller Connect and pH Controller Wi-Fi
  • Simple swap – unscrew the pump cover and twist the cassette off the drive motor
  • Brings a tired pump back to rated output – about 120 ml/min on PeriPod M-series pumps
  • Keeps the motor in service – only the part that wears is changed

Dosing That Slows Down or Stops

A peristaltic pump works by squeezing a flexible tube between rollers, and that tube has a finite life: Bluelab rate it at more than 750 hours of pump running time in the PeriPod. As it wears, or if the cassette is damaged, each dose delivers less than the controller asks for. The signs are pH or EC taking longer and longer to correct, a pump that fails calibration, or a motor you can hear running while the cassette does not turn. Left alone, an under-dosing pump leaves the reservoir off target and plants pay for it in poor nutrient uptake. Bluelab's own troubleshooting step is to check the pump's output and replace the cassette if it is low.

How to Use

  • Rinse first: run clean water through the pump and tubing so no acid, alkali or nutrient concentrate is left inside.
  • Power off the PeriPod or controller before touching the pump.
  • Remove the pump cover, then twist the old cassette to release it from the drive motor.
  • Fit the new cassette onto the motor the same way round, refit the cover and reconnect the dosing tubes.
  • Prime and recalibrate: prime the pump, then recalibrate PeriPod nutrient pumps with the liquid each one doses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it fit the PeriPod L3?

No. The L3 runs 1,200 ml/min pumps and takes Bluelab's larger L-series cassette. This cassette is for the 10–120 ml/min pumps on the PeriPod M3, M4 and Bluelab pH Controllers.

Is the pump motor included?

No. This is the cassette only: the rollers and internal tubing. The drive motor stays on your unit; Bluelab supply the complete pump and cassette assembly separately.

How do I know the cassette needs replacing?

If a pump's output is low or it fails calibration after you have ruled out kinked, blocked or split tubing, or the motor runs but the cassette does not turn, replace the cassette.
