Description

A Full 1.2m Grow Tent That Fits Under a Sloping Loft Ceiling

The BudBox Pro XL-R Tent (120cm x 120cm x 180cm) is the pitched-roof version of BudBox's popular 1.2m XL tent, made for lofts, attics and rooms with a sloping or low ceiling. The walls rise to 140cm, then the roof angles in at 45 degrees to a flat 40cm ridge at 180cm, so the tent tucks in under rafters that would stop a standard 200cm tent while keeping the full 1.44m² floor. Lofts run hot in summer and cold in winter, and a lower tent leaves less air between the light and the canopy, so airflow and heat control matter more than usual: a 225mm ducting port sits high in each gable end to pull warm air out at the peak, and two screened passive vents let fresh air in low. The frame is BudBox's 25mm, 1mm-wall tempered steel with all-metal push/click corners, and the canvas comes with a silver Mylar or BudBox PRO White lining.

Key Benefits

  • Pitched roof — 140cm walls rising to 180cm at the ridge — fits under sloping loft and attic ceilings
  • 25mm black powder-coated steel frame with all-metal push/click corners carries a light, fan and carbon filter without flexing
  • 4 doors: 2 front main doors plus 2 side access doors, so every corner of the 1.2m floor is within reach
  • 4 x 225mm ducting ports, double-cuffed and 20% oversized for insulated or acoustic ducting, plus 3 x 100mm cable ports
  • Uplift irrigation bar and 2 irrigation ports keep feed lines flat on the floor with the reservoir outside the tent
  • Green night-vision viewing window to check plants in the dark period without opening a door
  • Silver Mylar or PRO White lining, each with a drip tray in the matching colour

How to Use

  • Measure the space first: the tent needs a 120cm x 120cm floor, 140cm of height at the side walls and 180cm along the centre line.
  • Assemble the frame where it will stand — the poles push and click into the metal corners with no tools — then pull the canvas over and fit the drip tray.
  • Hang the light from the three roof bars on rope ratchets; with 180cm to the ridge, a slim LED or low-profile reflector leaves the most room for plants.
  • Extract from a high gable port, where warm air gathers under the roof, and let fresh air in through the low passive vents, pulling both cuffs tight around the ducting.
  • Run feed lines in under the uplift irrigation bar and keep cables in the 100mm ports, away from water.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much ceiling height do I need?

The tent is 180cm tall along its centre line and 140cm at the side walls, with the roof sloping in at 45 degrees to a 40cm-wide ridge. Check your rafters clear the 140cm walls and leave a little room above the ridge to assemble the frame.

What light suits a 120 x 120cm loft tent?

One 600W-class light, or an LED of similar output, covers the 1.44m² floor. With 180cm to the ridge, a slim LED bar fixture or a low-profile reflector keeps the most space between the light and the plants.

What size extraction fan does it need?

The tent holds about 2.4m³ of air. Changing it once a minute takes around 145m³/h before you allow for a carbon filter, ducting and a warm loft, so a 125mm (5in) or 150mm (6in) fan and filter kit is the usual choice, run through a 225mm port with the cuff drawn tight.

Silver Mylar or PRO White — which lining should I choose?

BudBox's flat PRO White lining reflects more PAR light and avoids hot spots; BudBox say Mylar reflects more heat energy and runs around 6-8°C warmer. Under a loft roof that already heats up in summer, White is the cooler option; Silver costs less.
