The Faran HR-15 Humidifier is a Korean-built centrifugal humidifier for greenhouses, propagation rooms and grow rooms of 15–30 m². It puts up to 1.5 litres of water an hour into the air on 90 W, runs from a water tank with a tap or a tap supply under 5 kg/cm², and tops itself up through an internal float valve. Take it on its own to run from a humidistat you already have, or with Faran's HR-DHTC digital humidistat for automatic control.

Why Does Grow Room Humidity Keep Dropping?
Fans, heaters and lamps all dry the air, and extraction keeps swapping humid air for drier air from outside. Below the range plants are comfortable in, leaves lose water faster than the roots can supply it – growth slows, new leaves curl and turn leathery, and cuttings wilt before they root. Tent-sized ultrasonic units struggle in a full room and need constant refilling. Plumbed to a reservoir, the HR-15 keeps misting for as long as the humidistat calls for it.
How to Use
- Water: soft, RO or demineralised only – hard water scales the disc and float valve and leaves white dust on lights, reflectors and filters.
- Connect: run 6 mm pipe into the water inlet from a tank with a tap (a hose-to-6 mm fitting kit does this) or a tap supply under 5 kg/cm². A gravity-fed tank must sit above the inlet.
- Position: stand it level – Faran specify horizontal installation so the float valve controls the water level.
- Control: Digital option – plug the humidifier into the HR-DHTC's humidifier output and set a target. Humidifier only – pair it with a humidistat such as the Faran HR-EHSA; without one it runs flat out.
- Targets: around 65–80% RH for cuttings and seedlings, 55–70% in vegetative growth and 45–60% for flowering and fruiting – check with a hygrometer at plant height.
- Maintain: clean the tank and base regularly. No mist – switch off and check the water level; overflowing – turn the water off and check the float valve.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it come with a water tank?
No. The HR-15 connects to any tank with a tap or to a tap supply under 5 kg/cm². The Complete Kit version adds a 100 L FlexiTank, the fitting kit and a humidistat.
Do I need a humidistat?
Without one it runs continuously at full output. The Digital option includes Faran's HR-DHTC; on its own, pair it with a controller such as the Faran HR-EHSA analogue humidistat, whose 2.2 A switch is sized for one humidifier.
Can I use tap water?
Only if it is soft. Faran humidifiers are made for soft, purified or RO water – hard-water minerals come out with the mist as white dust and scale the disc and float valve. An RO unit or a DI resin filter solves it.
How long will a 100 L tank last?
At the full 1.5 L/h, 100 L gives about 66 hours of continuous misting – longer once a humidistat is cycling it.
Will it suit a single grow tent?
It is built for rooms of 15–30 m², so in one small tent it would overshoot quickly. It is at its best in grow rooms, greenhouses, propagation rooms and rooms holding several tents.
