Description
Fire protection that works while the grow room is unattended
The Fireblitz Automatic Fire Extinguisher (model FBA-P1) is a compact 1 kg ABC dry powder extinguisher that sets itself off when it senses fire-level heat. In place of a squeeze-grip handle it has a heat-sensitive glass bulb: at 79°C (±5°C) the bulb bursts and the whole charge is released through a sprinkler-style head in under 10 seconds. Fireblitz rate it to protect 1 m² of floor area, which makes it a good fit for smaller grow tents, cabinets and equipment spaces where lights, drivers, heaters and fans run for hours with nobody watching.
Key Benefits
- Fully automatic – no power, wiring or person needed to set it off.
- A, B and C class fires – burning solids, flammable liquids and flammable gases, and safe for use on electrical equipment.
- Fast discharge – empties in under 10 seconds once the bulb reaches 79°C.
- Stored pressure with a gauge – 12 bar at 20°C, easy to check at a glance and low-cost to maintain.
- Compact – 330 mm tall and 95 mm wide including the steel wall bracket supplied.
- 5-year warranty from Fireblitz.
Why a Grow Room Needs Protection When No One Is There
Indoor growing packs lights, drivers, fans, heaters and pumps into a small space and runs them for long hours, often overnight. If a fault starts a fire in an unattended tent, it is usually too late for a hand-held extinguisher by the time anyone notices. An automatic unit mounted over the risk responds to the heat itself and knocks the fire down while it is still small.
How to Use
- Size it by floor area: one FBA-P1 protects up to 1 m², and Fireblitz advise fitting only one unit in any one compartment, sized to protect the whole of it.
- Mount it with the bracket supplied, with the discharge head pointing down or at any angle below horizontal – never pointing upwards.
- Keep it away from direct heat such as heater outlets or hot pipes, within its working range of −20°C to +60°C.
- Check the gauge regularly to confirm the unit is still pressurised.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does it go off without power or wiring?
The head holds a glass bulb filled with liquid that expands with heat. At 79°C (±5°C) the bulb bursts, the valve opens and the stored pressure drives the powder out through the head in under 10 seconds.
What size of grow tent will it protect?
Fireblitz rate the FBA-P1 for up to 1 m² of floor area – a tent up to 100 × 100 cm. Only one unit should go in any one compartment, so a larger space needs a unit rated for its full floor area.
Where should I mount it?
High in the space, over the equipment you want to protect, with the head pointing down or angled below horizontal – never upwards – and clear of direct heat sources that could set it off in normal running.
Is the powder safe on electrical equipment?
Yes – Fireblitz state it is safe for use on electrical equipment. Dry powder does leave a fine residue, so equipment needs cleaning down after a discharge.
