Automatic thermostatic speed control for a single EC fan

The Global Air EC1 Fan Speed Controller is a thermostatic controller that automatically adjusts the speed of a Systemair EC extraction fan based on grow tent or grow room temperature, holding a steady climate without constant dial-fiddling. It connects directly to compatible EC fans using active cables and draws power from the fan itself, so there's no separate mains connection and no extra wiring to route. As temperature climbs it raises fan speed to shift heat; as it drops it slows the fan while holding a set minimum airflow.

Heat build-up, or a fan that's always too loud or too slow?

Grow-room temperature fluctuations come with lighting and changing conditions. Run an extraction fan too slowly and heat builds up; run it too fast and it strips humidity and adds noise. The EC1 raises speed as temperature rises and eases off as it falls, holding minimum airflow throughout - keeping temperature and humidity stable and supporting steady CO2 exchange and nutrient uptake through veg and flower.

How to Use

1. Connect the EC1 to your EC fan using the supplied male-to-male active cable.
2. Confirm the fan uses compatible Systemair EC active cables with white connectors.
3. Place the temperature probe at canopy height in the tent or room.
4. Set your desired maximum temperature on the dial.
5. Adjust the minimum and maximum fan-speed dials to define the range.
6. The controller then raises or lowers speed automatically to hold the target. To run both intake and extraction fans from one EC1, add an Active Y-splitter cable.
