Gold Label Ultra pH- is a professional pH down from Gold Label in Holland for lowering the pH of nutrient solution in hydroponics, coco and soil feeding. Instead of relying on one acid it blends phosphoric, nitric and sulphuric acid, so each correction adds a small, even amount of phosphorus, nitrogen and sulphur rather than loading the tank with a single element. Why pH Drift Stops Nutrient Uptake
Hard tap water carries alkalinity that pushes solution pH upwards, and in a recirculating system the pH usually creeps up between top-ups as plants draw on the feed. Once it climbs out of range, iron, manganese and phosphorus become harder for roots to take up, and plants show it as pale new growth, slow growth and poor nutrient uptake even when the feed itself is right. Bringing the tank back into range puts those nutrients within reach again. In hard-water areas a phosphoric-only pH down can react with the calcium in the water and leave deposits; Ultra pH-'s three-acid blend reduces that build-up.
How to Use
- Shake well and open the container with care.
- Mix your base nutrients and additives first, then measure pH with a calibrated meter.
- Add Ultra pH- in small doses, stir and re-test until you reach your target – typically around pH 5.5–6.2 in hydro and coco and 6.0–6.8 in soil, or as your base nutrient advises.
- Always add acid to water, never water to acid, and avoid splashing – wear gloves and eye protection.
- Store at 5–30°C, away from frost and direct light, in the original container and out of reach of children.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much Ultra pH- will I need?
There is no fixed rate – it depends on how alkaline your water is and on the base feed. Gold Label advise adding it in small doses and re-measuring until the solution reaches the pH you want; hard tap water needs more than soft or RO water.
Why a blend of three acids rather than phosphoric acid alone?
Each acid adds a little of a different nutrient – phosphorus, nitrogen and sulphur – so repeated corrections do not skew your feed towards one element. In hard water it also cuts the phosphorus and calcium build-up that phosphoric-only products can cause.
Can I use it with other brands of nutrient?
Yes. It is a universal acid for adjusting nutrient solution, so it works with any base feed. Add it last, once every nutrient and additive is in the tank, then check the pH.
When should I add it?
After mixing. Adding pH- before the nutrients means the reading will move again once the feed goes in, so mix everything first, measure, then correct.
