Description

A Concentrated Nitrogen Top-Up for Lush, Vigorous Growth

House & Garden N27 Nitrogen Boost, labelled N 27% Nitrogen in Europe, is a highly concentrated liquid nitrogen supplement containing 27% nitrogen. Made with ammonium nitrate, urea and magnesium sulphate, it supplies nitrogen in fast-acting ammonium, nitrate and urea forms. Added to your normal base feed during vegetative growth and early flowering, it gives fast-growing, heavy-feeding plants the extra nitrogen they need for leafy growth, strong stems and deep green foliage in soil, coco and hydroponic systems.

Key Benefits

  • 27% nitrogen – a very concentrated supplement, used at just 0.3–0.5 ml per litre.
  • Three nitrogen forms – ammonium, nitrate and urea nitrogen that roots take up and use quickly.
  • Greener, healthier leaves – helps prevent the pale, yellowing foliage of a nitrogen shortfall.
  • Stronger structure – supports leaf formation, stem strength and root growth through the vegetative stage.
  • Targeted dosing – raises nitrogen on its own, without pushing up every other nutrient in the base feed.
  • All growing media – fully soluble, so it mixes cleanly into feed for soil, coco and every type of hydro system.

Pale Leaves and Slow Vegetative Growth?

Nitrogen is the nutrient plants use most during vegetative growth. When demand outruns supply – a long vegetative period, large plants in big containers, heavy-feeding varieties or a base feed pitched at an average crop – the lower leaves turn pale and yellow, new growth slows and stems stay thin. Roots convert nitrogen quickly into amino acids, the building blocks of proteins and new cells, so a measured dose of N27 lifts nitrogen on its own and gets plants growing strongly again without raising the strength of the whole feed.

How to Use

  • Vegetative week 2 to flowering week 1: 0.3 ml per litre of feed water.
  • Flowering weeks 2 and 3: 0.5 ml per litre (to week 4 on a 10-week flowering cycle).
  • When to use it: House & Garden list it as needed only for longer vegetative periods – leave it out of a short veg, or while leaves stay a healthy green.
  • When to stop: leave it out from mid-flowering onwards – extra nitrogen late in the cycle works against flower and fruit development.
  • Mixing: add it with your base nutrient and other additives, then check EC and adjust pH last – 5.7–5.9 in hydro, 5.8–6.3 in coco and soil.
  • Measuring: use a graduated syringe – doses this small are easy to overdo.
  • Storage: keep sealed between 7 and 30°C and do not let it freeze.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is N27 the same as the Nitrogen Boost sold in North America?

No. N27 is the European formula at 27% nitrogen, sold as N 27% Nitrogen. Bottles made for North America carry a different analysis, so use the rates on this page, which come from House & Garden's metric PRO feed charts.

Do I need it if I already use a base nutrient?

Most crops get enough nitrogen from a balanced base feed. N27 is for when they need more – longer vegetative periods, large or heavy-feeding plants, or pale lower leaves – and lets you raise nitrogen without strengthening the whole feed.

Can I use it during flowering?

Only early on. House & Garden's charts run it to week 3 of flowering, or week 4 on a 10-week cycle. After that, leave it out.

Which growing media does it suit?

Soil, coco and all hydroponic systems, including recirculating ones. It is fully soluble, so it mixes cleanly into any nutrient tank.
