House & Garden Feed Chart – 8 Week Doses per Litre

Every figure on the chart is millilitres per 1 litre of water. That is the volume House & Garden print on this chart, and nothing here has been converted to any other volume.
A 10-litre watering can takes ten times the figure in the chart, so 2.5ml per litre is 25ml in the can. This chart is the base feed only — House & Garden's additives are not on it. Each additive carries its own dose on the label, and you add it on top of the figures above.
Getting it right
- Add the A and the B separately. Pour the A into the water, stir it, then pour the B in. Tipped together into the same cap or jug they react and the feed turns cloudy.
- The figure is for each half. 2ml of A&B means 2ml of A and 2ml of B, not 1ml of each.
- Use the row that matches your medium. Aqua Flakes, Cocos and Hydro A&B all run on the top row. Soil A&B and 1-Component Aarde run on the second row, at roughly double the rate.
- Flower 4 is the peak. Soil reaches 5ml there and eases back the week after. The A&B row goes flat at 2.5ml from Flower 3 to Flower 5, then drops to 2ml for the last three weeks.
- pH depends on the medium, not the week. Aqua Flakes wants 5.7 to 5.9. Cocos and soil want 5.8 to 6.3.
- This covers the base feed and nothing else. House & Garden's own chart runs additives alongside it — Drip Clean, Roots Excelurator, Amino Treatment, Multi-Zyme, Algen Extract, Bud XL, Top Booster and the late-flower boosters. Read the dose off each bottle and add it to the base feed above.
- Shooting Powder or Top Shooter, not both. House & Garden mark those two "choose one". Shooting Powder is the sachet you dissolve; Top Shooter is the liquid that does the same job.
- Finish on plain water. House & Garden ask for a plain-water rinse of at least five days at the end of the run.

Common questions
What does 2ml per litre mean in my watering can?
Multiply by the size of the can. A 10-litre can takes 20ml of A and 20ml of B. A 5-litre can takes 10ml of each. A 1-litre jug takes the figure in the table as it stands.
Which row do I use?
The top row if you are on Aqua Flakes, Cocos or Hydro A&B. The second row if you are on Soil A&B or 1-Component Aarde. Soil runs at roughly double the rate of the others, so do not read across from one row to the other.
Should I follow this chart or the 10 week one?
Pick the one that matches how long your plants actually flower. Grow 1 to 3 and Flower 1 to 3 are identical on both. This 8 week chart goes straight to its peak at Flower 4 and finishes four weeks later. The 10 week chart holds Flower 4 at the Flower 3 rate before the peak and runs two extra weeks at the tail-off rate. If you routinely cut at eight weeks of flower, stay here.
Where are the additives on this chart?
They are not on it. This chart is the base feed. Drip Clean, Roots Excelurator, Amino Treatment, Multi-Zyme, Algen Extract, Bud XL, Top Booster, Shooting Powder and Top Shooter each carry their own dose and their own weeks on the label. Read the bottle and add them on top of the base figures.
What if my plants run a week over?
Hold the last row — 2ml of A&B or 3ml of soil A&B — and then finish on plain water. Do not go back up to the peak rate late in flower.
