Hy-Gen coco feed chart – Cocogrow and Cocobloom A+B in ml per 10 litres, cuttings to Flower 8, with additives and EC targets
  • All dosesper 10 litres
  • pH5.8 – 6.5
  • Base feed15–30ml of each part

Every figure is millilitres per 10 litres of water. The Cocogrow and Cocobloom figures are per part: Grow 1 is 20ml of A and 20ml of B. For a single litre, divide by ten.

Getting it right

  • Per part, every time. Hy-Gen spell it out on their chart. A 30ml figure means 30ml of Part A and 30ml of Part B in 10 litres of water.
  • Grow and Bloom overlap for two weeks. Cocogrow runs 15ml at cuttings, then 20, 25, 30 and 30ml through Grow. At Flower 1 it drops to 20ml as Cocobloom comes in at 10ml. At Flower 2 it is 10ml of Grow and 20ml of Bloom. From Flower 3 it is Cocobloom alone, at 30ml to the end.
  • When to make the switch. Hy-Gen say to bring in Cocobloom once flowers and fruit have started to form, usually two to three weeks after you cut the light hours.
  • BudLink goes in with the base, every week. Hy-Gen treat it as part C of the nutrient: 10ml at cuttings, rising to 30ml from Grow 3 to Flower 5, then 25ml for the last three weeks.
  • Nitro-K for growth, PK Top Up for flower. Nitro-K runs 5, 10, 15 and 20ml through Grow and 10ml at Flower 1. PK Top Up starts at 5ml at Flower 1, climbs to 30ml at Flower 5 and 6, then eases to 20ml and 10ml.
  • Omegazyme is for the early weeks. 15ml at cuttings, 20ml at Grow 1 and 2, 25ml at Grow 3, 30ml at Grow 4 and 10ml at Flower 1. It is the one row on the chart we do not stock.
  • Humiboosta and Sea Essentials carry on later. Humiboosta 5–10ml through Grow, 15ml from Flower 1 to Flower 3, 10ml from Flower 4 to Flower 6. Sea Essentials starts at 10ml at Grow 4, builds to 30ml at Flower 6 and 7, and finishes at 20ml.
  • The boosters have headroom. Hy-Gen say their supplements and boosters are organically based and can safely run at higher rates than the chart shows.
  • The EC targets assume RO water. On tap water, measure the water first and take its EC off your reading. Hy-Gen give 2.0 to 2.8 as the safe range in RO.
  • Keep pH between 5.8 and 6.5. Check it once everything is mixed in.

Common questions

Is this per litre or per 10 litres?

Per 10 litres. For a 1-litre jug, divide by ten: 30ml becomes 3ml of each part.

I grow in hydro. Is there a different chart?

Hy-Gen's hydro schedule for Hydro Growth and Hydro Bloom A+B runs at the same doses week for week, so use the figures above with the hydro bottles.

Do I really add 30ml of A and 30ml of B?

Yes. Hy-Gen print it on the chart: every Cocogrow and Cocobloom figure is per part, so 30ml means 30ml of each.

Do I need every additive?

No. Cocogrow and Cocobloom are the feed. Hy-Gen do say BudLink should always go in with the nutrient as part C. The rest are boosters, each with its own weeks.

My EC reads higher than the target.

Check your water first. The targets assume RO water at zero, so tap water adds its own EC on top of the chart.

Why does Flower start again at week 1?

Hy-Gen number their weeks 1 to 12 straight through, with weeks 1 to 4 in green and 5 to 12 in red, and Cocobloom starts at week 5. Growers count flowering from the switch, so weeks 1 to 4 are Grow 1 to 4 and weeks 5 to 12 are Flower 1 to 8.
