NITRO-K is a straight nitrogen and potassium supplement, for use when a plant is drawing those two elements down faster than the base feed replaces them. That happens most in hard vegetative growth, in a heavily populated room, and in recirculating systems where the solution drifts as it is used. It exists so that the fix is a measured top-up rather than dumping and remaking a reservoir — which is the expensive and disruptive alternative, and the one most growers reach for by default.

Pale, Stalling Growth in a Tank That Reads Right
A recirculating reservoir does not empty evenly. Plants take water and individual elements at different rates, so a tank mixed correctly on Monday can be short of nitrogen by Thursday while its EC still reads close to target — the total is right, the balance is not. What shows is slow growth, older leaves yellowing from the bottom up, and a plant that stops filling out despite a feed that looks correct on the meter. A targeted top-up restores the ratio in place, which is faster and cheaper than a full change and far better than feeding harder across the board.

- Diagnose first: lower-leaf yellowing that climbs the plant is the nitrogen signature — do not dose on suspicion alone
- Vegetative stage: the main use, alongside the base feed rather than instead of it
- Recirculating tanks: add to the reservoir, circulate fully, then re-read
- Always re-check EC and pH after dosing — this raises both
- Go up in steps: a small correction re-read the next day beats a large one you cannot take back out
