Fox Farm soil feed chart – Big Bloom, Grow Big and Tiger Bloom doses per 4 litres, Cutting 1 to Flower 8
  • All dosesper 4 litres
  • pH5.6 – 6.8
  • Base feedBig Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom

Every figure is per 4 litres of water. Divide by four for a 1-litre jug, or multiply by two and a half for a 10-litre can: Big Bloom at 15ml becomes 37.5ml. Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz and Cha Ching are powders and are weighed in grams.

Getting it right

  • Never mix the concentrates together. FoxFarm's rule: water in first, then each product on its own.
  • Feed up to twice a week. That is the limit FoxFarm print across the top of the chart.
  • Big Bloom runs every week. 30ml per 4 litres from Cutting 1 to Grow 3, then 15ml from Grow 4 to Flower 8.
  • Grow Big starts at Grow 2. 5ml at Grow 2, 10ml from Grow 3 to Flower 4, 5ml at Flower 5, then it stops.
  • Tiger Bloom takes over in flower. 5ml from Flower 1 to Flower 3, 10ml from Flower 4 to Flower 7, and 5ml at Flower 8.
  • SledgeHammer is a separate watering. FoxFarm schedule it three times: between Grow 4 and Flower 1, between Flower 3 and Flower 4, and between Flower 6 and Flower 7. Use 10ml in 4 litres of water with nothing else in the can. It clears built-up salts and unused nutrients from the soil.
  • The three powders follow one another. Open Sesame is 1.5g from Grow 4 to Flower 2. Beastie Bloomz is 1.5g at Flower 3 and Flower 4. Cha Ching is 1g from Flower 5 to Flower 8.
  • Boomerang, Kangaroots and Microbe Brew work the root zone. Boomerang is 5ml from Cutting 1 to Flower 3. Kangaroots is 2.5ml at Cutting 1, then 5ml at Grow 1, Grow 2, Grow 4 and Flower 2. Microbe Brew is 5ml at Grow 2, Grow 3, Flower 1, Flower 3 and Flower 5.
  • Four rows come from FoxFarm's wider range. Cultivation Nation Cal-Mag (5ml, Grow 2 to Flower 5), Wholly Mackerel (2.5ml, Cutting 1 to Grow 4), Kelp Me Kelp You (5ml, Grow 3 to Flower 5) and Bembé (15ml, Flower 4 to Flower 8). We don't stock these four, so they are not in the grid below.
  • Longer run? Repeat a week. For a longer veg, repeat Grow 4. For a longer flowering, repeat Flower 8.
  • Keep pH between 5.6 and 6.8. FoxFarm also print an EC range for each week, from 1.0–1.2 for cuttings to a peak of 3.4–3.8 at Flower 4.

Common questions

Is this per litre or per 4 litres?

Per 4 litres. Big Bloom at 15ml means 15ml in 4 litres of water, about 3.75ml in a 1-litre jug, or 37.5ml in a 10-litre can.

Does SledgeHammer go in with the feed?

No. FoxFarm give it as a watering on its own, three times through the run, at 10ml in 4 litres of water.

Can I use this chart for hydroponics?

No. FoxFarm publish a separate hydroponic schedule that uses Grow Big Hydroponic in place of Grow Big. This one is for soil.

Do I need everything on the chart?

No. Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom are the feed. The boosters and the three powders are add-ons, each with its own weeks on the chart.

Why does the chart restart at 1 when flowering starts?

FoxFarm number their weeks 1 to 12 straight through, with flowering under 12 hours of light from week 5. Weeks 1 to 4 are Grow 1 to Grow 4 on the chart, and weeks 5 to 12 are Flower 1 to Flower 8. Seedlings and cuttings are Cutting 1.
