Green Planet GP3 feed chart – Grow, Micro and Bloom doses per litre for drain to waste and recirculating, with EC
  • All dosesper 1 litre
  • pH5.8 – 6.5
  • Base feedGP3 Grow, Micro and Bloom

Every figure is millilitres per one litre of water. Scale it up for the can you use: Massive at 5ml per litre is 50ml in a 10-litre can. The top three rows are for drain to waste, the next three for recirculating systems, and the four additives below them are the same for both.

Getting it right

  • Pick your rows first. Green Planet print GP3 twice. Drain to waste is for set-ups where the run-off goes away. Recirculating is for systems where the solution runs back to the tank, and its base doses are higher. VitaThrive, Rezin, Massive and Liquid Weight are dosed the same in both.
  • Never pour the parts in together. Add each GP3 bottle to the reservoir on its own and stir before the next one goes in. Green Planet warn that the three parts combined neat can lock nutrients out. Check pH and EC once everything is in.
  • GP3 Grow fades out early in flower. Drain to waste: 0.25ml at Grow 1, 1.25ml at Grow 2 and Grow 3, 1.5ml at Flower 1, then 0.25ml from Flower 2 to Flower 5, and none after that. Recirculating: 0.75ml, 2.75ml and 2.75ml through Grow, 2.25ml at Flower 1, then 0.75ml to Flower 5.
  • GP3 Micro carries on almost to the end. Drain to waste: 0.5ml, 1ml and 1.25ml through Grow, 1.5ml at Flower 1, 1ml from Flower 2 to Flower 6, and 0.75ml at Flower 7. Recirculating: 0.75ml, 2ml and 2.75ml, then 2.25ml at Flower 1, 2ml to Flower 6 and 1.25ml at Flower 7.
  • GP3 Bloom climbs through flower. Drain to waste: 0.25ml at Grow 1 and Grow 2, 1ml at Grow 3, 1.5ml from Flower 1 to Flower 5, and 2ml at Flower 6 and Flower 7. Recirculating: 0.75ml, 0.75ml and 1.5ml, then 2.25ml at Flower 1, 3ml from Flower 2 to Flower 5 and 4ml at Flower 6 and Flower 7.
  • VitaThrive takes two weeks off. 1ml at Grow 1 and 2ml at Grow 2 and Grow 3. Nothing at Flower 1 or Flower 2, then 2ml a litre again from Flower 3 to Flower 7.
  • Massive is a six-week window. 5ml a litre from Flower 2 to Flower 7, and nothing outside it.
  • Rezin and Liquid Weight reach the last column. Rezin runs at 2ml a litre from Grow 3 right through to the final week. Liquid Weight runs at 1.5ml from Flower 1 to the final week. In the final week they are the only two products on the chart.
  • Read the EC rows as a check. Drain to waste climbs from 0.4 to 1.8 and holds there from Flower 2 to Flower 6. Recirculating climbs from 0.7 to 2.6 over the same weeks. Both read 0.1 in the last column.
  • Hold pH at 5.8–6.5 and the tank at 20–22 °C. Green Planet print both figures on the chart itself.

Common questions

Is this per litre or per 10 litres?

Per one litre. Massive at 5ml means 5ml in a 1-litre jug, or 50ml in a 10-litre watering can.

Drain to waste or recirculating: which rows are mine?

If the run-off leaves the pot and is thrown away, use the drain to waste rows. If the solution drains back into the reservoir and goes round again, use the recirculating rows. Hand watering and most coco and soil set-ups are drain to waste.

Can I use GP3 in soil?

Yes. Green Planet list soil and soilless mixes on this chart alongside hydroponics. Soil drains to waste, so follow the drain to waste rows.

Do I need all four additives?

No. GP3 Grow, Micro and Bloom are the feed and will grow a crop on their own. VitaThrive, Rezin, Massive and Liquid Weight are add-ons, and each has its own weeks on the chart.

Why does the chart restart at 1 when flowering starts?

Green Planet count three vegetative weeks, then seven flowering weeks and a final week. Growers count flowering from the switch, so the chart runs Grow 1 to Grow 3, Flower 1 to Flower 7 and a final week.

Is GP3 the same as Hydro Fuel or Dual Fuel?

No. Hydro Fuel is Green Planet's four-part base and Dual Fuel is their two-part, and each has its own schedule. This chart is for the three GP3 bottles only.
