Description

The flowering half of the hydro base, for media that buffer nothing

HYDROBLOOM A&B is Hy-Gen's two-part base nutrient for the flowering stage in inert media — clay pebbles, rockwool, perlite, NFT and deep water culture. It is the direct partner to HYDROGROW: same system, same mixing, switched at the flip. Flowering moves demand sharply toward phosphorus and potassium while nitrogen falls back, and in an inert system that change has to come entirely from the tank, because the medium holds no reserve of its own. Supplied as two parts for the same reason as every A and B base — calcium and the phosphate and sulphate salts cannot share a bottle.

Key Benefits

  • Flowering ratios for inert systems — complete in itself, since the medium supplies nothing
  • Two-part for stability — nothing precipitates in the bottle or in the reservoir
  • Straight swap from HYDROGROW — no change of system at the point the plant is most sensitive
  • Suits recirculating and run-to-waste, DWC through to NFT benches
  • Two sizes — a single system, or a room on a bulk tank

The Reservoir Drifts Fastest in Flower

A flowering plant in an inert system drinks hard and feeds hard, and it takes water and nutrient out of the tank at different rates. The solution left behind climbs in EC and moves in pH within a day or two, which is when growers see leaf edges burning at the same time as poor nutrient uptake lower down — the tank has become both too strong and unbalanced at once. A flowering base built for hydro is formulated to hold its ratio as it is drawn down, but the discipline still matters: check, correct, and change the tank on a schedule rather than when something looks wrong.

How to Use

  • Always add A first, then B — each into water, never into one another
  • Equal parts: A and B dose at the same rate
  • Switch from HYDROGROW as the plant enters flower
  • pH: hold 5.5–6.0 in inert media
  • Check EC and pH daily in a recirculating tank, and change it out rather than endlessly topping up
  • Never store mixed — make up only what the reservoir needs
