The LUMii BLACK 720W LED Kit pairs LUMii's BLACK LED 720W six-bar fixture with the LUMii BLACK 600W digital ballast that powers it. There is no driver built into the frame: the ballast drives the LEDs, so its dial sets the output – 250W, 400W, 600W or the 600W Boost setting for the full 720W. Its six bars carry full-spectrum white LEDs with added 660nm red, enough for a 1.2 x 1.2 m to 1.5 x 1.5 m grow tent or room. The frame measures 110 x 108 cm and is only 5 cm deep, and the ballast either bolts to the fixture with the brackets supplied or sits outside the grow space.

Hot, Uneven Light From an Old HID Lamp?
A single HPS or metal halide lamp pours its light from one point and much of its energy out as heat. The lamp has to hang high to avoid scorching the tops, so the edges of the canopy get far less light than the centre, plants stretch towards it, and the extra heat pushes up grow room temperature, humidity swings and the load on your extraction. A six-bar LED spreads its output across a 110 x 108 cm frame, so light reaches the corners of a 1.2 m tent far more evenly, the fixture can hang closer, and the room runs cooler with steadier airflow. Because the ballast can sit outside the tent, even its heat stays out of the grow space.
How to Use
- Fit the ballast to the fixture with the brackets supplied, or mount it outside the tent and connect it with an IEC male-to-female extension lead.
- Hang the fixture level on rope ratchets so you can raise it as the plants grow.
- Seedlings and cuttings: start on 250W with the light around 80–100 cm above the plants.
- Vegetative growth: step up to 400W then 600W, lowering the light towards 30–50 cm as plants establish.
- Flowering and fruiting: start at 400–600W and move to 600W Boost (720W) soon after, at 30–50 cm above the canopy.
- Watch the tops – pale, bleached or upturned leaves mean too much light: raise the fixture or turn the dial down.
- Run it on a timer or contactor rated for the ballast – typically 18 hours a day in vegetative growth and 12 hours in flower.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mount the ballast outside the tent?
Yes. LUMii designed the ballast to fit on the fixture with the brackets supplied or to sit remotely. To run it remotely, connect the ballast to the fixture with an IEC male-to-female extension lead, which keeps the ballast's heat out of the grow space.
What size grow space does it cover?
One kit covers 1.2 x 1.2 m to 1.5 x 1.5 m, so it is a natural fit for a 1.2 m tent. For a 1.2 x 2.4 m space, run two side by side.
Can I run it from a magnetic ballast?
It is built to run from the LUMii BLACK 600W digital ballast supplied in this kit, which provides the 250W to 720W settings. Use that ballast rather than a magnetic HPS ballast.
Is it suitable for the whole grow?
Yes. The full-spectrum white LEDs with added 660nm red suit every stage – start seedlings and cuttings on 250W with the light high, then raise the power and lower the light through vegetative growth into flowering.
