Getting More From the Light Than White LEDs Alone
A full-spectrum white LED covers what plants need for photosynthesis, vegetative growth and flowering, but it leaves out the wavelengths at the edges of the spectrum. Far red works alongside the main light to drive photosynthesis and influences how plants stretch and respond as they move into flowering; UV is used by growers to toughen leaves and lift colour and aroma. Because the Pro Dual puts UV and far red on their own channel, you decide when they run – off in vegetative growth, brought in during flowering, or left off altogether – without changing the main light level. The bar layout also spreads output across the whole footprint instead of concentrating it under one point, avoiding the hotspots and heat build-up of a single HID lamp.
How to Use
- Hang it level above the canopy on rope ratchets – the frame folds in half for transport, and one person can set it up
- Plug in the 3 m power lead
- Start low over young plants at 25–50%, then raise the power as the canopy develops; a PAR meter shows the actual PPFD at plant height
- Bring in the UV and far-red channel when you want it, most often during flowering
- Set the built-in timer for the photoperiod; to run several fixtures together, connect them with link cables

Do I have to run the UV and far red?
No. They sit on their own channel with their own dimmer, so you can run them only when you want them or leave them off.
