Description

Odour Control That Sits in the Duct, Not in Your Grow Space

The Phresh Inline Carbon Filter puts a Phresh activated carbon filter inside a fully sealed aluminium housing with a flange at each end, so it fits mid-duct between lengths of ducting instead of hanging at the start of the run. Every bit of extracted air is forced through the whole carbon bed, with no route around it, giving true point-to-point filtration of odours, dust, mould spores and pollen. Because it can sit outside the tent, in a loft void or along a low ceiling, it frees up growing space and suits awkward or low-level rooms, and it can be paired with a standard filter to double-filter the air leaving a grow room.

Key Benefits

  • Sealed inline housing – air cannot bypass the carbon, so the whole bed works on every pass
  • Fit it anywhere on the run – inside or outside the grow tent or grow room, between fan and outlet
  • Four flange sizes – 6in, 8in, 10in and 12in, rated from 800 to 2,000 m³/h
  • Phresh carbon bed – the same 46mm packed activated carbon used in Phresh's standard filters
  • Lightweight aluminium housing – easy to hang and install anywhere along the duct run
  • Double-filter option – run it after a standard carbon filter where odour control is critical

When a Standard Filter Will Not Fit

A conventional carbon filter hangs inside the growing space, takes up headroom and canopy area, and draws air in all along its length. In a small tent, a cupboard grow or a room with a low ceiling, that space matters, and a filter that leaks odour around a poorly sealed collar undoes the whole extraction system. Moving the filter into the duct keeps the grow area clear for plants and lights, while the sealed body makes sure the airflow your fan moves is the airflow that gets cleaned, helping you hold steady temperature and humidity without smells escaping.

How to Use

  • Match the flange to your inline fan and ducting diameter, and choose a fan whose airflow suits the filter's rating
  • Fit it in the run with the airflow passing through the filter towards the fan; secure both flanges with duct clamps for an airtight seal
  • Support its weight with hangers or ratchets rather than letting the ducting carry it
  • Look after the pre-filter – wash it roughly every 6 months to protect the carbon
  • Avoid extremes – sustained conditions above about 35°C or 75–80% humidity shorten carbon life

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between an inline filter and a standard carbon filter?

A standard filter hangs in the grow space and draws air in through its mesh sides. The inline filter is enclosed in a sealed housing with a flange at each end, so it fits between two lengths of ducting and every bit of air passes through the carbon.

Can I fit it outside my grow tent?

Yes. That is what it is designed for: place it anywhere along the extraction run, inside or outside the tent or room, as long as both ends are clamped airtight to the ducting.

Which fan do I need?

Pick a fan with the same flange size whose real-world airflow, after ducting and bends, sits at or a little below the filter's rating. Phresh's own HyperFan range is made in matching 150, 200, 250 and 315mm sizes.

Can I use it with another carbon filter?

Yes. Running it after a standard carbon filter double-filters the exhaust air, which is useful where odour control has to be absolute.
