Total Control Over EC and pH in Inert Media
Plagron Hydro A&B is a highly concentrated mineral base nutrition for the growth and flowering phases, with all trace elements in a quickly absorbable chelated form. Hydro A is rich in calcium, helping plants resist heat stress, while Hydro B contains magnesium to drive chlorophyll production. Together they make a complete feed for all inert substrates, and because it does not crystallise in the nutrient tank you get clean dosing lines and predictable readings.
Key Benefits
- Complete EC and pH control - exact numbers to work to.
- Chelated trace elements - quickly absorbable, nothing locked out.
- Calcium-rich A part - Ca 4.2% helps plants cope with heat stress.
- Magnesium-rich B part - MgO 1.4% supports chlorophyll and deep green growth.
- No tank crystallisation - keeps dosing pumps, lines and drippers clear.
- Highly concentrated - a maximum of 2.5ml per litre makes it economical.
- All inert substrates - clay pebbles, rockwool or perlite.
Crystallised Tanks and Patchy Nutrient Uptake
An inert medium has no buffer, so poor nutrient uptake shows as slow growth and weak roots within days. Add a base feed that crystallises in the reservoir and you get blocked drippers, drifting EC and plants at the end of the line quietly starving. Hydro A&B stays in solution and holds its EC, so every plant gets the same feed.
How to Use
- Preparation: shake well and add A and B to water separately, never together.
- Hydro A dose: a maximum of 2.5ml per 1 litre of water, a 1:400 dilution.
- Hydro B dose: use the same quantity as Hydro A every time, a strict 1:1 ratio.
- Frequency: use at every irrigation, through growth and flowering.
- pH: regulate to 5.5-6.5 with a pH up or down adjuster.
- EC: set to suit the plant species and its growth or bloom stage.
- Solution life: mixed solution keeps 4 days. Keep it circulating in a clean tank and monitor pH, as it slowly climbs.
- Avoid organics: do not mix organic products in - they can spoil after just 48 hours.
