Description
Build a denser, more fibrous root system without switching to hydro
Root Nurse fabric pots are made from a breathable woven fabric spun from recycled plastic bottles rather than solid plastic, so roots stop circling the moment they reach the wall. The fabric is reusable for around three years with care before eventually biodegrading. It is a practical upgrade for growers who want a stronger root mass and better drainage from a plant they are still running in medium.
Why do plants in solid pots get rootbound?
In a standard plastic pot, roots that hit the wall keep growing round and round into a dense circling mat that takes up water and nutrients poorly. The breathable fabric exposes root tips to air as they reach the edge, which air-prunes that growth and pushes the plant to throw out fresh feeder roots instead. The result is a fibrous, well-branched root ball that feeds more efficiently and drives stronger top growth.
Key Benefits
- Air-pruning fabric stops roots circling and triggers dense, multi-branched root growth.
- Improved drainage and aeration through the breathable weave, reducing the risk of waterlogged, airless medium.
- Recycled-bottle construction, reusable for around three years and biodegradable at end of life.
- Wide capacity range from 3.8L young-plant sizes up to 76L finishing pots.
How to Use
- Fill and plant as you would any pot.
- Because the fabric breathes, medium dries faster than in solid plastic - check moisture more often and water a little more frequently.
- Stand on a tray to manage the freer drainage.
- Rinse out and dry fully between grows to get the most reuses from each pot.

Questions & answers
Why use a fabric pot instead of a plastic one?
The breathable fabric air-prunes roots when they reach the wall, so they stop circling and the plant builds a denser, more fibrous root ball. Drainage and aeration are better too.
Do fabric pots need watering more often?
Usually, yes. The fabric breathes, so the medium dries out faster than in solid plastic. Check moisture more often and stand the pot on a tray to manage the freer drainage.
How long do they last?
Around three years with care. Rinse them out and let them dry fully between grows to get the most reuses, and the fabric biodegrades at the end of its life.
Which sizes can I choose from?
We stock 3.8L, 8L, 12L, 16L, 20L, 25L, 30L, 36L, 39L, 56L and 76L, so there's a size for every stage from young plants to large finishing pots.
Do they need a tray?
Yes, stand them on a tray or saucer. The fabric drains freely, so water runs out through the sides as well as the base.
