The TrolMaster Aqua-X Plus (NFS-3) is the upgraded, professional-grade version of the Aqua-X irrigation controller. Its 7-inch 800 × 480 touchscreen runs multi-zone pump and solenoid scheduling, it can control up to 240 devices in total and it monitors up to 25 sensors: nutrient pH, EC and temperature, plus substrate water content (WC%), temperature and EC. The AMP-3 sensor board comes in the box, so pH and EC probes plug straight in, and a standard CAT5 cable connects it to your router for the free TM+ Pro app on iOS and Android.

Fixed Timers and Missed Irrigation Failures
A timer waters on the clock whether the substrate needs it or not, and a blocked dripper or failed pump can go unnoticed until plants wilt. Measuring water content and EC in the root zone lets the NFS-3 irrigate from real dry-back, steer plants towards vegetative or generative growth, and raise an alert the moment a sensor or water detector shows something has gone wrong, so nutrient uptake and root health stay on track.
How to Use
- Mount the controller on its plate in a dry spot and power it from the 12V adapter
- Connect the AMP-3 sensor board and your control modules (OA6-24 valve boards, DSP and DSV-1 stations) by RJ12 daisy chain or an SPH-1 hub
- Fit sensors – PPH and PCT pH and EC probes on the AMP-3, water content sensors in the substrate and WD water detectors where you want leak or run-off checks
- Network – plug a CAT5 cable into your router and pair the TM+ Pro app
- Programme zones, pump links, alarms and crop steering targets on the touchscreen

Frequently Asked Questions
How does it differ from the Aqua-X and the Aqua-X Pro?
The Aqua-X (NFS-1) is the entry controller and comes with a water detector set. The Aqua-X Plus (NFS-3) adds the 7in touchscreen, crop steering, Multiple Pump Link and a far larger device and sensor capacity. The Aqua-X Pro (NFS-2) is TrolMaster's flagship for the largest multi-room installations.
Are pH and EC probes included?
No. The AMP-3 sensor board is included; the pH (PPH) and EC/temperature (PCT) probes that plug into it are bought separately.
Does it need the internet to work?
No. It runs on its own from the touchscreen. Connecting it to your router by CAT5 adds remote monitoring, control and alerts through the free TM+ Pro app.
What does it use to switch valves and pumps?
Control modules on the RJ12 chain: the OA6-24 board drives six 24V AC solenoid valves, and DSP program device stations, the DSV-1 low-volt station and the DSD-1 dry contact station switch pumps and other devices.
