Description

Refill the Charcoal, Keep the Filter

The AC Infinity Refillable Carbon Filter Kit is a duct carbon filter built to be emptied and refilled rather than thrown away when the charcoal is spent. Its patented, iF Design Award-winning body has twist-off aluminium flanges and a sealed chamber, so you can tip out used carbon and pour in fresh Australian virgin RC412 charcoal rated at 1200+ IAV in a few minutes, without tools. Each kit arrives with the filter already charged plus a full bag of refill charcoal, a funnel and a scoop, and it comes in 100mm, 150mm and 200mm duct sizes rated from 357 to 1,308 m³/h to match the inline fan in your grow tent or grow room.

What's Included

  • Refillable carbon filter, charged with 1200+ IAV Australian charcoal
  • Activated carbon refill of the same Australian charcoal
  • Refill funnel and scoop
  • Pre-filter cloths
  • Hanging straps and rope clip hangers

Key Benefits

  • Refill instead of replace — twist off a flange, empty the chamber and refill; the steel body and flanges go round again
  • Two filters' worth of carbon in the box — AC Infinity rate the kit, with its included refill, to match the filtration capacity of two standard filters of the same size
  • No packing required — the enlarged chamber reaches factory carbon compression on its own and is lab-tested to block odours as effectively as a standard filter
  • 38mm bed of RC412 carbon at 1200+ IAV for high adsorption and longer intervals between refills
  • Reversible flanges — rotate the filter end to end to use the carbon evenly before you refill
  • Humidity-proof build — two layers of galvanised steel mesh with a rust-resistant coating and a rubber seal around the flanges

Is Your Carbon Filter Losing the Battle Against Odour?

Every carbon filter eventually saturates. Once the charcoal is full, smells from plants, feeds and damp media pass straight through, and with a standard sealed filter the only fix is a whole new unit — often mid-crop. With this kit, falling odour control means a quick refill instead. Keeping fresh carbon in the line lets you run extraction hard enough to manage heat, humidity and airflow in the grow space without the smell escaping, and spent charcoal can be composted rather than sent to landfill with a steel filter body.

How to Use

  • Pick the size that matches your fan's duct diameter, with a filter airflow rating at or above the fan's output
  • Fit a pre-filter cloth, hang the filter with the straps or rope hangers, and connect it to the intake side of your inline fan for extraction (or on the inlet to clean incoming air)
  • Clamp each joint so all the air passes through the carbon
  • When odour starts to get through despite a clean pre-filter, reverse the flanges to bring fresher carbon into the airflow
  • To refill, twist off a flange, empty the chamber, fill it with fresh charcoal using the funnel and scoop, then refit the flange — no compressing needed

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I refill the filter?

Twist off one of the flanges, empty the spent charcoal, then use the included funnel and scoop to fill the chamber with fresh activated carbon and twist the flange back on. The chamber is sized so the carbon settles to the right density without packing it down.

When does the carbon need replacing?

When odours start to get through even though the pre-filter is clean and the fan is matched to the filter. Reversing the flanges first moves less-used carbon into the airflow and stretches the time between refills; how long a fill lasts depends on airflow, humidity and odour load.

Does a refillable filter work as well as a standard carbon filter?

Yes. AC Infinity lab-test the refillable design to block odours as effectively as their standard duct filters, using the same 38mm bed of 1200+ IAV Australian charcoal.

Which size fits my fan?

Match the duct diameter to your fan and check the filter's airflow rating is at least the fan's output: the 100mm is rated to 357 m³/h, the 150mm to 697 m³/h and the 200mm to 1,308 m³/h. If your fan moves more air than that, go up a size with a duct reducer.

What can I do with the used charcoal?

AC Infinity say spent charcoal from this filter can be composted, so only the carbon is replaced while the steel body and flanges stay in service.
