Description
Full-Power Double-Ended Light, Tuned for Photosynthesis
The DLI Horticulture Plus 1000W DE HPS Lamp is the replacement double-ended lamp from Dutch Lighting Innovations, made in the Netherlands and the same lamp DLI fit as standard in the DLI Joule Series 1000W fixture. It runs on 400V double-ended gear and suits most other 1000W DE HPS systems too. DLI's exclusive Horticulture Plus spectrum strengthens the red and blue wavelengths plants rely on for photosynthesis, so more of every watt does useful work through vegetative growth and flowering, while a high µmol output and long average life keep the canopy lit at full strength for longer between lamp changes.
Key Benefits
- Horticulture Plus spectrum – DLI's own blend, boosted in the red and blue regions that drive photosynthesis
- High µmol output from a full 1000W double-ended envelope for strong light intensity at canopy level
- Long light maintenance – built to hold its output across a long working life, so you relamp less often
- Direct replacement for the DLI Joule Series 1000W, and a fit for most other 1000W 400V DE fixtures
- Made in the Netherlands by the company that designed the fixture around it
The Slow Fade of an Ageing HPS Lamp
Every HPS lamp loses output gradually, long before it fails, and its spectrum drifts as it goes. The canopy receives less usable light, and the usual signs are slower growth, excessive stretch between nodes and weaker flowering in a room where nothing else has changed. Relamping on a schedule with a lamp built for high output and long light maintenance keeps light intensity where you set it, and giving a new lamp its first 100 hours at full power lets it settle before you start dimming or boosting.
How to Use
- Check the gear: confirm your fixture and ballast are rated for a 1000W 400V double-ended lamp
- Power off and cool down: isolate the fixture and let the old lamp cool completely before removing it
- Fit with clean gloves: never touch the quartz glass with bare skin, and seat both ends squarely in the lamp holders
- Burn in at 100% for 100 hours: run a new lamp at full output for at least 100 hours to stabilise it before you dim or boost

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fit a 1000W double-ended fixture from another brand?
It is made for DLI Joule Series fixtures and suits most 1000W double-ended HPS fixtures that run the lamp at 400V. Check your ballast is rated for a 1000W 400V DE lamp before fitting.
Can I dim or boost the lamp straight away?
No. Run a new lamp at 100% for at least 100 hours so it stabilises, and only then dim it down or boost it up.
Is this the lamp supplied with the DLI Joule Series 1000W?
Yes. The Joule Series 1000W ships with the DLI Horticulture Plus 1000W DE HPS lamp, so this is the like-for-like replacement.
Do I need a separate lamp for vegetative growth?
No. The Horticulture Plus spectrum strengthens both red and blue, so one lamp covers vegetative growth and flowering.
