Description

Keep Your DLI UV Fixture Delivering Real UV-A and UV-B

The DLI UV Series 150W Solar Noon Lamp is the replacement lamp for the DLI UV Series 150W supplemental fixture, sold by Dutch Lighting Innovations as the CRI UV 150W DE. Solar Noon® is DLI's own exclusive lamp – the part that lets the fixture recreate the UV-A and UV-B of outdoor sunlight indoors – and it is made in the Netherlands. UV output fades with use well before a lamp stops lighting, so the lamp should be changed every 12 months when the fixture runs the recommended 4 hours a day, and sooner if it runs for longer.

Key Benefits

  • Genuine Solar Noon® lamp – the DLI-exclusive lamp the UV Series 150W is designed around
  • UV-A and UV-B output to recreate the UV plants receive outdoors
  • Restores the full UV dose to a fixture whose lamp has aged
  • Thicker leaves and cell walls – the right UV dose leaves plants less susceptible to pests and mould
  • Double-ended lamp that drops straight into the DLI UV Series 150W

Why Replace a UV Lamp That Still Lights Up?

A UV lamp can glow exactly as it did on day one while its useful UV output has dropped, and there is no way to see the difference by eye. Plants carry dedicated UV-A and UV-B photoreceptors and use them to read their surroundings; DLI's work shows that a correct daily dose builds thicker leaves and cell walls and makes plants more resilient against pests and mould, reducing the need for insecticides and fungicides. As the lamp ages that dose quietly falls away and so does the benefit. Changing the Solar Noon lamp on a 12-month schedule keeps the treatment consistent from one crop to the next.

How to Use

  • Power off and cool down: isolate the fixture and let it cool fully before opening it
  • Fit with clean gloves: keep fingers off the glass and seat both ends of the lamp squarely in the holders
  • Run 2 to 4 hours a day: DLI recommend at least 2 to 4 hours of UV within the lighting cycle – a daily window, not the whole photoperiod
  • Relamp every 12 months at 4 hours a day, and sooner if the fixture runs longer each day
  • Protect yourself: avoid exposing skin and eyes to UV and schedule the UV window for times you are not working in the room

Frequently Asked Questions

Which fixture does this lamp fit?

The DLI UV Series 150W, which DLI also call the CRI UV 150W DE. The fixture is built around the Solar Noon lamp, so relamp it with Solar Noon.

How often should I change the lamp?

Every 12 months if the fixture runs 4 hours a day. Running it for longer each day wears the lamp faster, so replace it sooner.

How long should the UV run each day?

DLI recommend at least 2 to 4 hours a day during the lighting cycle rather than the whole photoperiod.

Is it safe to work under UV light?

Avoid exposing skin and eyes to UV. Schedule the UV window for when you are out of the room, and switch it off before you go in.
