Description
High-output centrifugal humidity for large grow rooms and greenhouses
The Faran HR-50 Humidifier is the big brother of the HR-15: a Korean-built centrifugal humidifier for commercial grow rooms, greenhouses and propagation spaces of 100–150 m². It puts 2.5–4 litres of water an hour into the air on just 90 W, runs from a tank with a tap or a tap supply under 5 kg/cm², and tops itself up through an internal float valve – one unit carrying a whole room instead of a row of small humidifiers. It is supplied as the humidifier only, ready to pair with a Faran humidistat and your own reservoir.
Key Benefits
- 2.5–4 L/h output – Faran's rating for rooms of 100–150 m²
- Centrifugal atomising – a spinning disc and fixed vanes make the mist, with no nozzles or ultrasonic discs to clog or replace
- Feeds itself from any tank with a tap or a supply under 5 kg/cm² via an internal float valve
- 90 W draw, in a latched housing with a carry handle
- Shares accessories with the HR-15 – the same humidistats, fitting kit and float valve fit both
Low Humidity Across a Large Grow Room
In a big room every extraction fan, air-conditioning unit and lamp works against humidity, and a low reading hits every plant at once. Dry air makes plants transpire faster than their roots can keep up – curled, leathery new growth, wilting and stalled development, with cuttings and young plants suffering first. Several small ultrasonic units mean constant refilling and patchy coverage; one HR-50 fed from a reservoir and switched by a humidistat holds the whole room.
How to Use
- Water: soft, RO or demineralised only – hard water builds limescale that can damage the unit and leaves white residue on nearby equipment.
- Connect: run 6 mm pipe into the water inlet from a tank with a tap (a hose-to-6 mm fitting kit does this) or a tap supply under 5 kg/cm². A gravity-fed tank must sit above the inlet.
- Position: stand it level so the float valve controls the water level, where the mist can mix into the room's air movement.
- Control: plug it into a humidistat – the Faran HR-EHSA analogue or HR-DHTC digital – and set a target; without one it runs flat out.
- Targets: around 65–80% RH for cuttings and seedlings, 55–70% in vegetative growth and 45–60% for flowering and fruiting – check with a hygrometer at plant height.
- Maintain: clean the tank and base regularly. No mist – switch off and check the water level; overflowing – turn the water off and check the float valve.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a humidistat included?
No – this is the humidifier only. Pair it with the Faran HR-EHSA analogue humidistat (dial-set, 10–80% RH) or the HR-DHTC digital humidistat, which also reads temperature and can run a heater or air-conditioning unit from a second output.
How long will a 100 L tank last?
At its top output of 4 L/h, 100 L gives about 25 hours of continuous misting – longer once a humidistat is cycling it; a larger FlexiTank extends it further.
Can I use tap water?
Only if it is soft. Faran humidifiers are made for soft, purified or RO water – hard-water minerals come out with the mist as white dust and scale the disc and float valve. An RO unit or a DI resin filter solves it.
Should I choose the HR-15 or the HR-50?
The HR-15 suits rooms of 15–30 m² at up to 1.5 L/h; the HR-50 covers 100–150 m² at 2.5–4 L/h on the same 90 W. Both use the same humidistats, fitting kit and float valve.
