Description

A fresh carbon block and sediment filter for the Super Grow 800

The GrowMax Super Grow Replacement Filter Pack (GMWPACKSUP) is the matched service set for the GrowMax Super Grow 800 L/h two-stage water filter. It holds a 5 micron sediment filter (GMWSED10PL) that stops sand, rust and grit, and a high-capacity green carbon block (GMWCARB10PL) that removes up to 99% of chlorine along with herbicides, pesticides and volatile organic contaminants. Both are 10 inch wide-bore (Big Blue format) cartridges to suit the Super Grow's large housings, and GrowMax advise a fresh pair every 28,000 litres of filtered water.

What's Included

  • Super Grow Green Carbon Block Filter (GMWCARB10PL)
  • Super Grow Sediment Filter, 5 micron (GMWSED10PL)

Key Benefits

  • Made for the Super Grow 800 — 10 inch Big Blue cartridges for its two housings
  • Up to 99% chlorine removal, plus herbicides, pesticides and VOCs
  • 5 micron sediment stage keeps grit and rust off the carbon block
  • High-capacity green carbon block for long service between changes
  • Full flow restored when a loaded sediment filter has been cutting the outlet

A Saturated Filter Lets Chlorine Through

A carbon block has a finite capacity. Once it is spent, chlorine passes straight into the reservoir, where it knocks back the beneficial micro-organisms in coco and soil and the root zone loses the biology that supports root development and nutrient uptake. The filter keeps running and the water looks the same, so changing the pair on schedule is the only reliable way to keep the Super Grow doing its job.

How to Use

  • Turn off the supply and release the pressure before opening a housing
  • Unscrew both housings with the GrowMax housing spanner and rinse out the bowls
  • Fit the sediment filter first in the flow and the carbon block second; check the O-rings are seated, then refit the housings
  • Run water to waste for a few minutes, until it runs clear, before filling your tank
  • Change both every 28,000 litres (or 6 to 12 months) — sooner if outlet flow drops early

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this pack fit my Garden Grow or Pro Grow?

No. GrowMax make a separate pack for each unit: the Garden Grow takes 20 inch slim cartridges and the Pro Grow has its own pack, while the Eco Grow, Power Grow and Mega Grow take 10 inch slim cartridges. This pack fits the Super Grow 800 only.

Do I change both filters at the same time?

Yes, normally. GrowMax rate the pair together. On a dirty supply the sediment filter clogs first — if the flow drops well before the carbon is due, that is the one to look at.

Will the Super Grow lower the EC of my tap water?

No. It is a sediment and carbon filter: it strips chlorine and organic contaminants but leaves dissolved minerals in the water. To bring EC down you need a reverse osmosis unit.
