Flood and Drain You Can Set to the Minute
The IWS Flood and Drain Standard Remote 16mm runs the proven IWS flood and drain cycle with a separate remote minute timer, so you decide exactly how long the root zone sits flooded - anywhere from 1 to 60 minutes - and you can change it from outside the grow room. At each feed, solution is pumped from the IWS FlexiTank into the control unit, or brain, and the pots joined to it by 16mm pipework fill until a float in the brain stops the flow at pot height. When the timed feed ends, everything drains back to the tank. Each flood forces stale air out of the medium and each drain draws fresh air in, so roots stay oxygenated, take up nutrients readily and avoid the root rot and slow growth that come from a medium left saturated. This kit also adds pot stands, which lift every pot for extra drainage from the root zone, and copper discs for root control, in kits of 6 to 48 pots fed from one tank.

How to Use
- Stand the pots on their stands and the brain on the same level floor, then connect each pot with the 16mm pipe and fittings
- Set up the FlexiTank and its pump, and run the timer cable from the brain to where you want the timer
- Fill the punched inner pots with clay pebbles, or a pebble and coco mix if you want to flood less often
- Turn the dial to the flood duration you want, from 1 to 60 minutes
- Use 'O' to hold feeds off, the centre position to follow the timer and 'I' to run permanently on
- Check pH and EC in the tank at each top-up and flush the system with clean water between crops

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the Standard system?
The Standard has a 15-minute segmental timer built into the brain. The Standard Remote has a separate minute timer for precise flood duration, which can sit outside the grow room, and it adds pot stands and copper discs. Pots, pipework and FlexiTank are the same.
Why use pot stands?
The stands raise each pot off the floor, which lets the root zone drain more completely between floods.
What do the copper discs do?
Roots that touch copper stop growing at that point, so the discs help keep roots from matting at the base of the pot and around the outlet.
Should I choose the Pro Remote for a large room?
IWS recommend the Standard Remote for 6 to 24 pots. The Pro Remote has the same remote timer with 25mm pipework and a 3,000 L/h pump, so larger systems fill and drain faster.
