The Maxibright CFL Pro Reflector is a closed, dual-parabolic hood for compact fluorescent grow lamps of up to 300W. It borrows the enclosed design normally kept for HID lighting and applies it to low-energy CFLs: both ends are closed, so light that would spill sideways out of an open shade is reflected back down onto seedlings, cuttings and young plants. A hammered aluminium insert spreads that light evenly, and the hood arrives ready to run with a fitted power lead, UK plug and on/off switch.

Leggy Seedlings and Wasted Light
A bare CFL, or one in an open-ended shade, throws much of its output sideways onto walls and ceiling. The plants underneath get less light than the lamp's wattage suggests, so they stretch towards it and come up thin and weak. Enclosing the lamp in a reflective hood concentrates that light onto the tray, keeping young plants compact and sturdy, while the CFL's low heat lets you hang it close without scorching tender leaves.
How to Use
- Screw in a CFL grow lamp of up to 300W: blue spectrum for seedlings, cuttings and vegetative growth, red spectrum for flowering top-up light
- Hang the reflector horizontally or vertically using rope ratchets or chain
- Start around 20-30cm above the plants and raise it as they grow
- Switch on with the built-in switch, or run it from a timer for consistent day lengths

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a CFL lamp included?
No. The reflector comes wired with its lead, UK plug and switch, ready for a CFL grow lamp of up to 300W, which is sold separately. Our Omega CFL Grow Bulbs in Deep Blue and Far Red fit it.
How is it different from a standard CFL Euro reflector?
A Euro-style shade is open at the ends, so some light escapes sideways. The Pro is a closed box with a dual-parabolic profile that turns that light back down onto the plants, and it arrives pre-wired with its own lead, plug and on/off switch.
Do I need a ballast?
No. CFL grow lamps carry their own electronics in the base, so the lamp runs straight from the mains through the reflector's lead.
