The Spider Farmer Plant Stand with Grow Lights is a small indoor greenhouse: a steel shelving frame with full-spectrum LED light bars under each level and a zip-up 1680D Oxford fabric grow tent that holds in warmth, humidity and light. The 4 Tier - 108W model measures 70 x 35 x 150 cm and runs six 18W light bars; the 6 Tier - 220W model measures 110 x 40 x 180 cm and runs ten 22W light bars, giving seedlings, cuttings, microgreens and herbs a lit shelf each.

Why Do Seedlings Grown on a Windowsill Go Leggy?
On a windowsill, seedlings get light from one side for part of the day, so they stretch towards the glass and grow thin, weak stems, while draughts and dry air slow germination and rooting. Light from directly above keeps growth short and sturdy, and the cover keeps temperature and humidity even, which helps root development and cuts transplant shock.
How to Use
- Assemble the frame with the push-fit poles and shelf clips, set the shelf heights to suit your trays and lock the castors.
- Clip the light bars under the shelves, link them with the supplied cables and run the plug out through a cable port.
- Keep seedlings close - in Spider Farmer's test two bars gave a centre reading of about 354 µmol/m²/s at 10 cm and 205 µmol/m²/s at 30 cm on the 4 Tier, and 342 and 195 µmol/m²/s on the 6 Tier, so raise the shelf or the plants as they grow.
- Put the lights on a timer to give seedlings and cuttings a regular 16-18 hour day.
- Use the trays under pots and seed trays, and open the vents or the front curtain if condensation builds up.

Can I use the stand without the tent cover?
Yes. The frame, lights and trays work as an open lit shelving unit; the cover is there when you want to hold in warmth and humidity or keep the light out of the room.
How far should the lights be from my seedlings?
Keep young seedlings fairly close and raise the shelf as they grow. Spider Farmer's own test with two bars measured about 354 µmol/m²/s at 10 cm and 205 µmol/m²/s at 30 cm in the centre of a shelf on the 4 Tier, and about 342 and 195 µmol/m²/s on the 6 Tier.
Is it big enough to grow plants on to full size?
It is designed for raising seedlings, cuttings, microgreens and herbs, and for one or two compact plants. Larger plants are best moved on to a full-height grow tent.
Does it keep light from leaking into the room at night?
Yes. The front has two curtains: a transparent one for checking plants and a blackout one that closes off the light completely.
