Description

One-Part Coco Nutrition for Strong Flowering and Fruiting

VitaLink Coir Classic Bloom SW is a one-part coco coir base nutrient for the flowering and fruiting stage, made for growers on soft water. Coco behaves differently from soil and peat – it holds on to calcium and magnesium and releases potassium – so Coir Classic is balanced for coir from the start, with every macro and micronutrient a flowering plant needs in a single bottle. Humic acids and chelated micronutrients improve nutrient uptake and photosynthesis, the mixed solution is highly stable in the tank, and VitaLink states the feed does not affect the flavour of herbs, vegetables, salad or fruit. It is HydroGarden's original VitaLink coco nutrient, in use for more than 15 years.

Key Benefits

  • One-part formula – the whole bloom feed in one bottle, with no A and B to balance.
  • Made for coco coir – balanced for coir's calcium, magnesium and potassium behaviour.
  • Soft water version – matched to low-mineral tap water.
  • NPK 2.5-2.0-2.3 – more phosphorus and potassium for flowering and fruiting.
  • Humic acids and chelated micronutrients for better uptake and photosynthesis.
  • Simple dose – 6–8 ml per litre right through flowering.

Weak Flowering in Coco: The Wrong Feed for the Medium

Feeding coco with a general hydro or soil nutrient is a common cause of poor flowering: the coir pulls calcium and magnesium out of the solution and gives potassium back, so the plant sees a different balance from the one in the bottle. The result is pale leaves mid-bloom, slow fruit set and deficiencies that look like underfeeding. A coco-specific bloom feed, matched to your water hardness, keeps nutrient uptake and root development even through flowering without a shelf of extra bottles.

How to Use

  • When to start: switch from Coir Classic Growth to Coir Classic Bloom when plants show the first signs of flowering.
  • Dose: 6–8 ml per litre through flowering and fruiting; always keep at least the minimum rate.
  • Mixing: shake well, add to the water and stir, then add any additives.
  • pH: adjust if needed to 5.8–6.5.
  • Water type: use this Soft Water version on soft tap water; hard, chalky water needs the Hard Water version.
  • Additives: combine with VitaLink additives such as Buddy for an extra PK lift in flower.

Frequently Asked Questions

Soft water or hard water – which do I need?

Choose by your tap water. Soft water areas (or reverse osmosis water) need this Soft Water version; hard, chalky water needs the Hard Water version, which allows for the calcium and magnesium already in the water.

Is it a two-part A and B feed?

No. Coir Classic is a one-part nutrient – one bottle per stage, dosed at 6–8 ml per litre in flower.

Do I need a separate Cal-Mag?

Coir Classic Bloom is a complete bloom feed. In very soft water areas VitaLink recommends a half-strength CalMag supplement (0.5 ml/L) during the growth stage.

Can I use it in soil or hydro?

It is formulated for coco coir. For soil VitaLink makes Earth MAX, and for recirculating hydro Hydro MAX.
