Description
Even watering from a tough, Australian-made micro sprinkler
The Antelco 1.3mm Micro Sprinkler is a compact rotating sprinkler with a green colour-coded 1.3mm nozzle rated at 60 litres per hour. Water leaves the nozzle and strikes a spinning flipper held in a rigid C-frame, which throws it out as a circle of droplets rather than a single jet. A threaded barbed spike screws into a punched hole in 13mm or 19mm supply pipe, or into the end of 4mm micro tube, so the sprinkler can sit directly on a main line or be raised on a riser. Antelco design and make their micro irrigation in Australia for harsh outdoor conditions, which is why these sprinklers last for years in a greenhouse, polytunnel or grow room. They suit propagation benches, seed beds, raised beds, nursery stock and bespoke aeroponic or overhead watering systems.
Key Benefits
- 60 L/h through a 1.3mm nozzle – a steady, measured flow for overhead or under-canopy watering.
- Rotating flipper – spreads water in a circle of droplets, wetting the area evenly instead of one spot.
- Threaded barbed spike – screws tightly into 13mm or 19mm pipe or 4mm micro tube for a secure, leak-free fit.
- Colour-coded nozzle – green identifies the 1.3mm, 60 L/h size at a glance when you build or extend a system.
- Made in Australia by Antelco – built for harsh Australian conditions, so it lasts for years under glass or indoors.
Dry Patches and Uneven Watering
Hand watering and single-point drippers leave some plants soaked and others dry, especially across wide benches, seed trays and beds of closely spaced plants. Uneven moisture shows up as patchy germination, slow growth and weak root development at the dry edges, while waterlogged spots stay cold and short of oxygen. A grid of micro sprinklers on a timer puts the same amount of water over the whole area every cycle, keeping the root zone evenly moist and humidity more consistent across the crop.
How to Use
- Punch a hole in the supply pipe and screw the spike in until the sprinkler seats firmly, or push it into the end of a length of 4mm micro tube to raise it on a stake.
- Mount the sprinklers upright for bench and under-canopy watering, or upside down above the crop for overhead use.
- Space them so the spray patterns overlap slightly, run the system and check coverage on the first cycle.
- Fit an inline filter on the supply and rinse the lines through between crops so grit cannot block the 1.3mm nozzle.
