Light-Proof Dark Room Grow Tents, from 60cm to 3m
The Secret Jardin Dark Room is Secret Jardin's premium tent for medium and large growing spaces, built for plants from 50 to 150cm tall. The Secret Jardin Dark Room DR150 is a heavy-duty grow tent built around a steel pole frame and a reflective, light-proof canvas, giving a 150 x 150cm growing footprint with enough headroom for a full vegetative-to-flower cycle. Reflective interior lining keeps light on the canopy rather than lost to dark corners, and the light-proof exterior stops any leakage disrupting a dark period. A tent that lets light escape or leaks it in during the dark hours disrupts flowering, so a properly light-sealed build matters as much as the frame underneath it. The current R4.00 generation – DR150, DR240 and DR300 here – adds Ø25mm stainless steel poles, M400D Mylar canvas with a double-flap zip, 360° access and a full kit of fitted accessories; the earlier R3 sizes cover a 60cm cabinet-style tent, a narrow 150 x 90cm tent, a taller 235cm DR150, a 240cm-square DR240 and a 300 x 150cm DR300W.

How to Use
- Assemble the pole frame and fit the canvas following the included instructions
- Route ducting and cabling through the tent's port sleeves to keep the interior tidy
- Check the zips and light seals regularly to protect the dark period
- Size the extraction to the tent: the figures above assume a carbon filter and a one-minute air change; without a filter, Secret Jardin advise about 40% less
- Spread the load – hang lights and filters across the handling bars rather than from one point

What is the difference between R3 and R4?
R4.00 is Secret Jardin's current Dark Room: Ø25mm stainless steel poles, M400D Mylar canvas, a double-flap light-proof zip, 360° access and a full set of fitted accessories (web support, water tray, DF25 flanges, straps, hooks and clips). The R3 tents are the earlier generation, still available in a few sizes and shapes; the DR240 R3 and DR300W R3 come with WebIT nets, Space Boosters and hanging, strapping and cable accessories.
Which extractor fan do I need?
Secret Jardin's advice, with a carbon filter and one air change a minute: about 650m³/h for the DR150, 900m³/h for the DR240 and 1200m³/h for the DR300. The DR150 R4 takes 200mm ducting; the DR240 and DR300 take 250mm.
How much weight can the frame hold?
On R4 tents each handling bar carries up to 25kg, with a total of 75kg on the DR150, 225kg on the DR240 and 250kg on the DR300 – enough for LED fixtures, a carbon filter and ducting.
How much light does each size need?
For intensive growing of sun-loving plants Secret Jardin advise about 600W of efficient LED in the DR150, 1600W in the DR240 and 2400W in the DR300; for moderate growing their figures drop to 400W, 800W and 1600W.
