Best Humidifiers for Grow Tents: 2026 Buying Guide
Share
Buy a humidifier with enough output for your tent and let a humidistat switch it, so it holds your target instead of soaking the walls. For most tents that is the AC Infinity CloudForge, with humidity and VPD control built in. On a budget, the Garden HighPro HumiPro has its own humidistat for £44.90.

How to choose
- Check you need one. Humidifiers earn their place with seedlings, cuttings, dry winter air and strong extraction.
- Size the output to the tent. Around 240–400 ml/h suits most small and medium tents; 800 ml/h and up suits big tents and rooms.
- Always use a humidistat. Without one it runs until the air is saturated, which means wet walls and mould.
- Use filtered or RO water. Hard tap water leaves white mineral dust on leaves and kit.
- Mist low, into moving air. Never straight at leaves, the light or plugs.
Not sure what to aim for? Read grow tent humidity: the right RH for every stage. Only rooting cuttings? A propagator holds humidity far more easily.
Quick answers
What size humidifier do I need for a grow tent?
For most small and medium tents, 240–400 ml an hour from a 4–5 litre tank. Big tents, rooms and tents with strong extraction need 800 ml an hour or more, and a bigger tank.
Do I need a humidistat?
Yes, unless one is built in. Without it a humidifier keeps going until the air is saturated, which leads to condensation and mould. A plug-in controller makes any plain humidifier automatic.
Can I use tap water?
You can, but hard tap water leaves fine white dust on leaves and equipment. Filtered, RO or distilled water avoids it.
Is warm mist better than cool mist?
Warm mist humidifies more efficiently in a cold room, which is why the CloudForge T5 offers it, but it draws up to 330W with warm mist on. In a tent at normal room temperature, cool mist does the job.
