RAW Soluble Nutrients Explained: What Each Powder Does
Share
RAW, from NPK Industries, is a range of soluble powders: two all-in-one base feeds, straight elements that correct one nutrient, and supplements for the root zone. Start with RAW Grow and RAW Bloom, add RAW Calcium Magnesium on soft water or in coco, and bring in the rest only when a crop or your water calls for it.
What each RAW powder does
RAW Grow
From £15.28 2lb £89.90
The all-in-one feed for vegetative growth: one powder in place of a feed built from single elements.
- NPK 7-4-5
- 4–6 g per 4 L
- Soil, coco and hydro
- Seedling to pre-flower
- A blend of all twelve RAW solubles, with humic acid, kelp and yucca extract to help uptake
- Aim for about 600–800 ppm at around pH 6.0, starting low and building up
Know before you buyIt is a growth feed. When flowering starts, move on to RAW Bloom, or add RAW Phosphorus and RAW Potassium.

RAW Bloom
From £13.95 25lb £614.50
The flowering partner to RAW Grow, used right through the flowering stage as the core mineral feed.
- 1–2 tsp per 3.8 L
- Whole flowering stage
- Hydro, coco and soil
- No fillers or dyes
- Mono potassium phosphate, potassium sulphate, iron DTPA, magnesium and manganese sulphate, with volcanic ash for trace minerals
- A dry concentrate with no added water, so it is lighter than bottled feed and mixed fresh
Know before you buyRAW recommend running it with RAW Calcium Magnesium, so budget for both, especially on soft water or in coco.

RAW Calcium Magnesium
From £12.58
A measured cal-mag top-up for RO, soft water and coco, dosed separately from the base feed.
- 15% calcium
- 3% magnesium
- 9% nitrate nitrogen
- 1/16–1/8 tsp per 3.8 L
- Calcium shortage shows in new growth, as tip burn in lettuce or blossom end rot in tomatoes; magnesium shortage yellows older leaves between the veins
- Dose it on its own, so you fix one problem without changing the whole feed
Know before you buyDissolve it in the reservoir water, never in a concentrate. Strong calcium nitrate and sulphates react to form insoluble gypsum.

RAW Humic Acid
From £15.28
Makes your feed go further by holding minerals in the root zone until the roots take them up.
- 59% humic acid
- From leonardite
- 1/8–1/4 tsp per 3.8 L
- Soil, coco and hydro
- Buffers root-zone pH and raises cation exchange capacity
- Pairs with RAW Full Up, a fulvic acid that keeps minerals moving into the plant
- RAW run it with RAW Kelp at five parts to two; kelp adds natural auxins and cytokinins
Know before you buyIt is not a feed: the 0-0-4 on the label is a little potash, so keep your base feed as it is.

RAW Grow Microbes
From £13.48
Beneficial bacteria and fungi for young, rooting plants, from transplant through vegetative growth.
- Mycorrhizal fungi
- Bacillus species
- 2–4 g per 4 L
- Every 1–2 weeks
- Move on to RAW Bloom Microbes once flowering starts
- RAW Cane Molasses feeds them, without the pump-clogging syrup of liquid molasses
- RAW Enzymes breaks down dead roots before they foul the root zone
Know before you buySet EC and pH first, then stir the microbes in last and use the solution promptly. It clouds the water rather than dissolving clear.

RAW Silica
From £34.90 2lb £118.99
pH-neutral silica for sturdier stems and leaves at every stage, without clouding the tank.
- 45% silicon dioxide
- From diatomite
- 1/8–1/4 tsp per 3.8 L
- Every stage
- Unlike the potassium silicate in most liquid silica, it will not push the pH up
- Thicker cell walls help plants cope with heat and drought, and resist powdery mildew and sap-sucking pests
Know before you buyPart of it stays suspended rather than dissolving. Add it to diluted feed, never concentrate, and keep the tank moving with an air stone or pump.

RAW B-Vitamin
From £12.95
Vitamin B1 and magnesium for transplants and hard spells of heat, drought or salt stress.
- 1% vitamin B1
- 9% magnesium
- 0.3–1.25 g per 4 L
- Soil, hydro and foliar
- Soak the roots in lukewarm water with B-Vitamin at the transplant rate when moving plants from soil to hydro
- Safe at every stage, at its highest rate through heavy flowering and fruiting
Know before you buyIt carries 9% magnesium, so allow for it if you also dose cal-mag.

Doses scaled to a 10 litre tank. Mix the whole tank at once: a single litre’s dose is too small to measure.
| Powder | Job | Stage | Per 10 L |
|---|---|---|---|
| Growth base feed | Growth | 10–15 g | |
| Flowering base feed | Flowering | 13–26.1 ml | |
| Calcium and magnesium | All stages | 0.8–1.6 ml | |
| Nutrient uptake | All stages | 1.6–3.3 ml | |
| Root microbes | Growth | 5–10 g | |
| Stronger stems | All stages | 1.6–3.3 ml | |
| Stress, transplants | All stages | 0.75–3.1 g |

How to choose and mix
- Start with the base feeds. RAW Grow and RAW Bloom are the all-in-one feeds, with RAW Calcium Magnesium alongside Bloom; everything else is an add-on for a particular job.
- Fix one element with a straight. RAW Nitrogen (20-0-0, free of nitrate and urea) for pale, slow growth; RAW Phosphorus (9-61-0) and RAW Potassium (0-0-50) for flowering and fruiting.
- Add extras where they help. RAW Amino Acids are uncut L-glycine and L-glutamic acid (7% nitrogen) for any feed; RAW Yucca is a natural wetting agent that helps water soak evenly into the medium, at 1/16 tsp per 19 litres.
- Weigh for the whole tank. Many doses are a fraction of a gram per 4 litres, so mix 10 litres or more at once and use 0.1g digital scales.
- Mix in order. Dissolve each powder in the diluted feed, never a concentrate. Set EC first, then pH once everything is in, and stir microbes in last.

Quick answers
Do I need every RAW product?
No. RAW Grow and RAW Bloom are the all-in-one base feeds, with RAW Calcium Magnesium recommended alongside Bloom. The rest are single-element top-ups and supplements, used when your water, growing medium or crop calls for them.
Which size should I buy?
For a hobby grow, the 2oz (57g) or 8oz. Additives go a long way: 2oz of RAW Enzymes treats over 350 litres at its reservoir rate. Base feeds go faster, about 38–57 litres per 2oz of RAW Grow, so bigger grows want the 2lb, and commercial rooms the 10lb or 25lb.
Can I mix the powders together in a concentrate?
No. Dissolve each one in the reservoir water. Concentrated calcium nitrate and sulphates react to form insoluble gypsum, which locks up both the calcium and the sulphur.
Why are the doses per 3.8 litres?
RAW give most of their rates per US gallon, which is 3.8 litres. Scale up for your tank: 1/4 tsp per 3.8 litres is about 3.3ml of powder per 10 litres. Use a dry spoon and level it off.
