Best Circulation Fans for Grow Tents: 2026 Buying Guide
Share
Circulation fans mix the air inside a tent, so heat and damp cannot settle around the plants. Use one clip fan in a small tent and two blowing across each other from about 100cm wide, aimed so the leaves flutter rather than thrash. Our pick is the AC Infinity CloudRay; on a budget, the Garden HighPro ProFan does the same basic job.

How to choose
- Count the fans first. One for a 60–80cm tent, two from about 100cm, and wall fans as well in a room.
- Check the clip fits your poles. Monkey 16–19mm, ProFan up to 3cm, Maxifan up to 4cm.
- Decide how much quiet is worth. EC and 24V fans are the quiet option; 20W mains clip fans are the cheap one.
- Aim across the plants, not at them. Every leaf should move a little; none should be pinned back.
- Keep them running. Still air goes damp, especially after lights-off.
Circulation is a different job from extraction: for that, see what size extractor fan you need and our best quiet inline fans.
Quick answers
How many clip fans do I need in a grow tent?
One for a small tent of 60 to 80cm. From around 100cm, use two on opposite corners blowing across each other, which leaves no dead spots. Rooms usually need wall fans as well.
Should the fan blow directly on the plants?
No. Aim it across the canopy so every leaf moves a little and none is pinned back. Strong air straight onto leaves all day can dry and damage them, especially young plants.
Do circulation fans replace an extractor fan?
No. Circulation fans mix the air inside the tent; an extractor removes heat and humidity and brings fresh air in. A tent needs both.
Should circulation fans run all the time?
Usually, yes. Damp pockets form whenever the air stops moving, including after lights-off, when humidity often rises.
