Best Large Grow Tents and Loft Tents: 2026 Buying Guide
Share
In a big tent, height, frame strength and the number of doors and ports matter as much as the floor. For a four-light room, the BudBox Pro 240 × 240 × 220cm has a 25mm steel frame, five doors and twelve large ports. On a budget, the LightHouse MAX gives you 25mm poles and welded corners at 1.5m for £167.95, and under a sloping roof the BudBox Pro XL Plus-R fits a 1.5m square.

How to choose
- Measure the ceiling, not just the floor. You need clear space above the tent to fit the roof poles, plus room to open every door.
- Size the room to the lights. As a guide, allow about 1.5m² per 600W-class light: four in a 2.4m square and six in a 3m square.
- Check the frame. 25mm steel poles with metal corners carry a multi-light room; 16mm poles with plastic corners, as on the standard GorillaBox, suit lighter kit.
- Count the doors and big ports. In a 2.4m room you should reach every plant without leaning over the canopy, and extract from more than one point.
- Heavier fabric lasts longer. Most tents here are 600D; the BloomBoxx is 1650D on a 22mm frame with metal corners.

Quick answers
What size extractor fan does a large tent need?
Work out the tent’s volume and aim to change the air once a minute, then size up for the carbon filter, ducting and the heat of the lights. A 2.4 × 2.4 × 2.2m tent holds about 12.7m³, so start at a 250mm (10 inch) fan and filter.
Will a grow tent fit in my loft?
A pitched-roof tent will if the rafters clear its walls. The BudBox XL Plus-R needs 140cm at the walls and 180cm under the ridge, and the XL-R is the 120cm-square version. Stand a long one, like the XXL-R, parallel to the loft’s own ridge.
Can one tent hold cuttings and a main grow?
Yes. The Secret Jardin Lodge L280 splits 280 × 120 × 210cm into a main room behind two doors and a separately doored, shelved side column for propagators and young plants. With a light baffle between them, one extractor draws air through both.
Silver Mylar or white lining?
BudBox say their flat white lining reflects more PAR light and avoids hot spots, while Mylar runs around 6–8°C warmer. Under several lights, white is the cooler choice; silver usually costs less.
